Over 500 people attended the national conference of the “$15 now” campaign held in Seattle on Saturday 26 April, coming from 45 different places across the USA. Cities like Boston, New York, Minneapolis and Chicago were represented along with campaigners from states like Alabama, California, and Florida, to name but a few. The mood was very confident, inspirational and electrifying, according to the first reports. Serious discussions on strategy and tactics took place on the next steps to continue the struggle for $15. Below are a few pictures of this historic event, a landmark in the campaign to raise the minimum wage to $15/hour, itself a focal point for the rebuilding of the workers’ movement in the US. A more substantial report will be posted on this website in the next few days.
