Stop the execution of Ismail Mohammadi – urgent protest needed
Ismail Mohammadi has recently lost his Supreme Court appeal against the death sentence passed on him last year. He has been imprisoned for two years and in this time he has faced physical and mental torture.
Ismail Mohammadi is a political prisoner – charged with supporting and co-operating with Komala – one of the Kurdish leftist organisations in Iranian-Kurdistan.
The Islamic Republic of Iran uses executions and torture to create fear in an attempt to prevent the development of a powerful movement to overthrow the regime. These repressive measures are deliberately aimed against the workers’ movement, secularists, the students’ movement and oppressed national minorities. The workers’ movement internationally must oppose these state repressions.
