Last Thursday, 10 July, the Labour and Civil Society Coalition (LASCO) organized the solidarity action with striking teachers 2008. The ongoing strike by the Nigerian Union Teachers (NUT) is important in many respects; it involves arguably the largest industrial union in Nigeria and and affects public education, at primary and secondary levels. The Democratic Socialist Movement (CWI in Nigeria) participated in the 10 July action.
