Joe Higgins attacks Sri Lankan government in Irish Daily Mail
The international campaign, Stop the Slaughter of Tamils – campaign to end the war and fight for democracy in Sri Lanka, initiated by the CWI, has attracted much support from around the world. High profile supporters include British MP John McDonnell and Booker Prize-winning author Arundathi Roi.
Joe Higgins, Irish Socialist Party (CWI in Ireland) TD (Irish MP) from 1997-2007 has also pledged his support. In an article in this week’s Irish Daily mail, Joe looks at the current horrific situation in Sri Lanka, putting forward a socialist solution to the country’s vicious cycle of war and poverty.
