The Moscow News reports on heroic workers struggle
"Workers’ leaders from Kazakhstan are taking their case to Europe amid an increasingly brutal crack down by Nursultan Nazarbayev’s government against protesting oil workers in the Central Asian country.
Two Kazakh socialist leaders, Ainur Kurmanov and Yesenbek Ukteshbayev, this week appealed to the OSCE’s annual human rights conference in Warsaw on Monday about the jailing for six years of Natalya Sokolova, a lawyer who defended protesting oil workers in the country. Theytraveled to Poland through three countries, including Russia, to avoid arrest on social order charges they say are politically motivated."
