Dina Boluarte, head of the installed regime in Peru
Massive protests are developing by workers and the poor in Peru against the newly installed government of Dina Boluarte, which has postponed the calling of early elections and introduced a state of emergency. Boluarte’s government was installed following the arrest and then impeachment of former President Castillo who had announced the suspension of the rotten corrupt congress. Castillo’s election in 2021 was a blow to the ruling class and the rich in Peru and they have attempted on numerous occasions to overthrow his government. Elected on a promise to end the suffering of the poor, unfortunately Castillo attempted to adopt a policy and programme which failed to challenge capitalism and the rich. The ruling elite has wanted him out of office ever since he was elected. The Congress is a corrupt, undemocratic body in the hands of the right-wing pro-capitalist parties.
The CWI sends its solidarity and support to the workers and poor of Peru and demands an end to repression and the state of emergency. For committees of struggle! Down with the Boluarte government – for a revolutionary constituent assembly and a government of the workers and the poor to break with capitalism.

Declaración del CIT en solidaridad con los trabajadores peruanos
Se están desarrollando protestas masivas de los trabajadores y los pobres en Perú contra el gobierno recién instalado de Dina Boluarte, que pospuso la convocatoria de elecciones anticipadas e introdujo el estado de emergencia. El gobierno de Boluarte se instaló luego de la detención y posterior juicio político del ex presidente Castillo, quien había anunciado la suspensión del podrido congreso corrupto. La elección de Castillo en 2021 fue un golpe para la clase dominante y los ricos en Perú y han intentado en numerosas ocasiones derrocar a su gobierno. Elegido con la promesa de acabar con el sufrimiento de los pobres, lamentablemente Castillo intentó adoptar una política y un programa que no logró desafiar al capitalismo ya los ricos. La élite gobernante lo ha querido fuera del cargo desde que fue elegido. El Congreso es un organismo corrupto y antidemocrático en manos de los partidos pro-capitalistas de derecha.
El CIT envía su solidaridad y apoyo a los trabajadores y pobres del Perú y exige el fin de la represión y el estado de excepción. ¡Por comités de lucha! Abajo el gobierno de Boluarte por una asamblea constituyente revolucionaria y un gobierno de los trabajadores y los pobres para romper con el capitalismo.
