More than 10,000 people took part in a demonstration against the war in Berlin on Saturday 22 September.

The demonstration was organised by a broad anti-war alliance, involving more than 100 organisations. SAV, the sister party of the Socialist Party in Germany, is part of this alliance and intervened with the slogan: "No more victims, stop the war". Thousands of leaflets were distributed and a SAV member spoke on the platform. SAV is supporting plans by Widerstand International (International Resistance) to call a school students’ strike on the first day of military attacks. One demonstration of 1,600 school students has already taken place and the idea of a strike is gaining more and more support.3,000 marched in Sydney and 2,000 in Melbourne, Australia. 500 demonstrated outside the US consulate in Toronto at very short notice. A rally has been called for 29 September. Members and supporters of the Committee for a Workers International (CWI) – to which the Socialist Party is affiliated – are participating in and initiating anti-war protests around the world.
