For more than a quarter of a century Venezuela has been a headache for US imperialism. Over the past twenty-six years a revolutionary process has ebbed and flowed in the country. The Venezuelan masses have in that time repeatedly pushed towards a decisive rupture with US imperialism and capitalism. Especially under Maduro\u2019s predecessor, Hugo Ch\u00e1vez, the regime stood on the shoulders of the Venezuelan working class and poor.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\"><span class=\"x_elementToProof\">Venezuela\u2019s \u2018Bolivarian\u2019 revolution is the subject of the articles collected in this book, written as events unfolded. We believe that the material gathered here has stood the test of time and has a new relevance. The regional left-populist \u2018pink tide\u2019 in Latin America in this period was an anticipation of the \u2018era of populism\u2019 that capitalism is passing through today on a global scale, and which now touches every continent in one form or another.
