Editors note: While under threat of expulsion from the Labour Party, these documents used the following conventions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEB – National editorial Board – was the annually elected National Committee of the Militant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EB – the Editorial Board – was the Executive Committee elected by the National Committee. (In some other documents referred to as the EC)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LYO – Labour’s Youth Organisation – Labour Party Young Socialists<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EG – Ted Grant<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RS – Rob Sewell<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AW – Alan Woods<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PT – Peter Taaffe<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DC – Dave Cotterill<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FC – Francis Curran<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BI – Brian Ingham<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FT – Full time worker for the Militant<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TG – Ted Grant<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other common abbreviations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLP: Constituency Labour Party – The governing body in each constituency<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Healy: Leader of the Socialist Labour League, which became the Workers Revolutionary Party<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Healyites: see Healy above<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LYO: Labour Youth Organsiation, usually refers to the Labour Party Young Socialists (LPYS)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NCC: National Constitutional Committee – the Labour Party body that carried out expulsions<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEC: National Executive Committee of the Labour Party<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RCP: Revolutionary Communist Party – precursor to the Militant<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SNP: Scottish National Party<\/p>\n\n\n\n
