Two years after coming to power and as preparations for the next round of elections in 2027 are about to begin, a clear consensus has formed among many Nigerians that the Tinubu regime’s neo-liberal capitalist programme can only translate into hunger and hardship and to that extent, that nothing better can be expected from it whether now or in the foreseeable future. This explains why on the occasion of its two years anniversary celebration, the regime’s effort to present a phony scorecard of achievement most especially the controversial coastal highway was met with derision by the mass of the population.
